Telecommunications Field Service Technician
As a field service technician, you will be responsible for reviewing and completing work orders to move, change, install, repair, or remove data communications equipment such as cabling POS, CCTV, computer terminals, audio systems, DVR’s, digital signage, traffic monitoring systems and analytics, as well as wireless RF units. You will connect computers or terminal to data communications lines. You will inspect and test wiring to locate and repair problems as well as ensure specifications are met. You will plan layout and installation of data communications equipment and demonstrate use of equipment.
Additional responsibilities of the field service technician will include:
Reading technical manuals to learn correct settings for equipment
Installing wires and cables as well as splice wires or cables
Disassembling equipment or modify equipment in accordance to use request
Entering commands into computer to test equipment.
As a field service technician, you must have at least 3 years field experience and installation of hardware products, cabling, and networking. You must have a thorough knowledge of the 25 pair color code and an understanding of T-1 circuits. We are looking for someone with POS installation/configuration and uninstall experience as well as POS break/fix experience. Also, you must have experience with phone system installation & knowledge and proper supports and spacing methods.
High School Diploma or some college
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at off-site client locations
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Basic Computer Skills and strong organizational skills.
Ability to Travel and a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record
Availability to work evening and weekend hours
Must be able to pass a full background check with no prior records
Phone system experience a plus
Fiber experience a plus
Telecommunications Cable Technician – Lead Installer
Responsible for the installation of cable pathway systems, firestop systems, various electronic components, various cable including but not limited to: Category 6A, 6, 5e & fiber, twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded cable and solid conductor low voltage cable. Cable installation includes: placement, termination, testing, labeling & documentation.
Additional responsibilities of the Cabling Technician will include:
Lead crew to successful completion of installation
Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, j-hooks or d-rings)
Install, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal, backbone and other cables.
Dress & route cable into telecom closet, modular furniture and other work area outlets.
Build out telecom & equipment rooms.
Firestop various types of cable penetrations.
Test, Troubleshoot and document test results for cabling
Possess working knowledge of the ANSI/EIA/TIA cabling standards & the National Electric Code.
Understands, adheres to and promotes the Environmental, Health & Safety policies.
Perform/Prepare timely field reporting of asset usage as required.
Conduit installation is a plus.
Fiber Installation and termination is a plus.
The ability to read blueprints
Comprehension of the terminology pertaining to the installation and service of telecommunication, data and security and wireless systems.
The ability to think critically and problem solve
Strong mechanical aptitude
Basic computer skills
Must have and be proficient with small hand tools and power tools
Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Must be able to pass a full background check with no prior records
Must be able to work both day and night shifts with occasional weekend work and overnight travel.
Fiber Cable Install Technician
We're looking for a skilled and motivated Fiber Cable Install Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for installing, splicing, and testing and troubleshooting fiber optic cable for commercial structured cabling projects. This is a hands-on field position ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, working independently, and delivering great customer service.
Install, splice (fusion and mechanical), and terminate fiber optic cable
Pull and run cable via aerial, underground/buried, and in-building methods
Test and troubleshoot fiber lines using OTDR and power meter equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and splicing diagrams
Identify and resolve signal loss or connectivity issues
Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and job tickets
Provide clear, professional communication with customers on-site
Follow all safety protocols, including work at heights and in confined spaces
High school diploma or GED required
1–3 years of telecom, cable, or low-voltage experience preferred
Working knowledge of fiber splicing, OTDR testing, and light loss/signal principles
Familiarity with copper cabling and basic electronics is a plus
Valid driver's license required; personal vehicle insurance
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Comfortable working at heights and in small spaces
Strong troubleshooting, time management, and customer service skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a small crew
Must be able to pass a full background check with no prior records

BICSI Installer 1/2 or Technician certification
Fiber Optic Association (FOA) certification (CFOT preferred)
OSHA 10 or 30
